Altar workers may be compared to the worker in a hospital delivery room. Jesus is the Chief Obstetrician, and we are workers with him, and for him. It is very important for Altar Workers to know the voice and the leading of the Lord to bear witness, observe, and to verify the reception of the Holy Ghost.
An Altar Worker is one who observes and verifies the bringing forth of one born of the Spirit (receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost); speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The Altar Worker explains repentance to the candidate (which means to turn away from your way to God’s way) and to have a desire in your heart to want to live a better life for God. The goodness of God should lead men to repentance. Romans 2:4.
When a person realizes he is a sinner and acknowledges that he has sinned against God, this is true repentance. Look at Psalms 51:4. It is to God we owe our allegiance; so therefore, we must be godly sorrowful for our sins, after a godly manner (2 Corinthians 7:9). The man of God here at Greater Christ Temple always extends the message of salvation and keeps the altar open to those who really have a desire to be saved from their sins and to come to receive from God his promise of salvation for their soul and learn of Him.
